GTA Online Daily Objectives | How to "Participate In" and complete challenges

In the ever-changing world of GTA Online, there’s a huge variety of missions, tasks, and challenges you can take part in. To most effectively build your Los Santos empire, you need to make the best use of your time, and that means building your wealth and reputation with daily objectives; including “Participate In” and “Complete” style challenges.

These challenges serve as an extra push to take advantage of all the different kinds of story missions, activities, and PvP modes GTA Online has to offer - but that aren’t always the best labelled.

Sometimes you’re sent after contact missions, or into different game modes, but the rewards are the same. You’ll earn both money and RP for finishing all of your daily objectives, as well as an extra bonus for completing a streak throughout a week.

Here’s how to participate in all of the different kinds of missions, so you’re not pouring over the map searching for icons.

How to finish “Participate in” and “Complete” Daily Objectives in GTA Online

When you’re trying to launch different missions in GTA Online, there are a couple of quick menus that have you covered most of the time: the “Play Quick Jobs” app on your phone, or the “Online” tab of your main menu.

The Online menu gives you most control of what you’re doing, and is the easiest place to start most of the different game types.

  • First, open the game's main menu with the map and tab over to “Online”.
  • Next, click on “Jobs”.
  • Since you just want to complete the challenge and don’t want to mess around with other players, click “Play Jobs”
  • Then go down to “Rockstar Created”.
  • From this Rockstar Created menu, you can launch all sorts of different missions that come up in Daily Objectives.

The full roster of playlists is below:

  • Adversary Mode
  • Arena War
  • Capture
  • Deathmatches
  • King of the Hill
  • Last Team Standing
  • Missions
  • Parachuting
  • Races
  • Stunt Races
  • Survivals
  • Target Assault
  • Versus

However, a couple of common mission types don’t jump out of that list - specifically Lowrider and Heist themed missions.

To access those quickly, open up your phone and navigate to "Play Quick Jobs". Scroll down the list until you find the heist you’re after. For Lowrider missions, you’re looking for “Lamar”.

If you’d prefer a visual guide, the YouTuber GTA Gentleman has a playlist (linked) of all the different types:

How to participate in an Air Race in GTA Online

The easiest way to participate in an Air Race in GTA Online is to go into the online tab of the map menu and select “Play Jobs”, then “Rockstar Created”. From there scroll down to races, then press the prompt at the bottom of the screen to cycle through the different types of races - on PC, this is shift.

Cycle through to Air Races, then start whichever you like.

How to participate in the Bunker Series in GTA Online

The Bunker Series of modes is pretty buried. To participate in it, you need to head into the Online menu, then select “Jobs”, “Play Jobs”, and “Rockstar Created” as usual.

Then scroll down to the “Adversary Modes”. Next scroll down all the way to the Bunker game types.

How to participate in Carnage in GTA Online

To participate in Carnage, head into the Jobs section of the Online tab in the map menu. Go to Rockstar Created Jobs, then select “Arena War”. Scroll down to Carnage 1, 2, or 3.

How to participate in a Client Job in GTA Online

Client Jobs are a little trickier to set up, because you need to have unlocked certain items and characters to have access to them.

To participate in one, you need to make contact with the hacker Paige Harris from the main GTA 5 story by buying the Terrorbyte truck from Warstock Cache and Carry on your iFruit device’s internet app.

From there, you’ll be able to accept Client Jobs from some of Paige’s customers via the computer inside the truck.

How to participate in a Clubhouse Contract in GTA Online

Clubhouse Contracts are another tricky one, because you need to have progressed enough in the game to have unlocked your own clubhouse from the Biker Gang update.

To buy one for yourself, visit the Maze Bank Foreclosures site via the eyefind internet app on your phone.

Filter the results by clubhouses to find the right property. Next, open the Interaction Menu where you see the Daily Objectives and scroll down to “Motorcycle Club”.

Start a Motorcycle Club, then go to your clubhouse. Inside, go to the planning wall and you’ll be able to start Contract missions.

How to participate in a Deathmatch in GTA Online

Deathmatches are available in the Online tab of the map menu by navigating through “Jobs”, “Play Jobs” and “Rockstar Created”.

Deathmatches are about half way down. Cycle through the different types using the prompt at the bottom of the screen - on PC it’s the shift key.

How to participate in a Freemode challenge in GTA Online

This one might catch out a few players that prefer to play on their own. To get Freemode challenges you need to enter a session with five or more other players in.

You’ll then see the simple Freemode challenges pop up at the bottom of your screen and change after a set period of time. All you need to do is attempt what the challenge is asking you, and you’ll complete the Daily Objective.

How to participate in Game Masters in GTA Online

Game Masters is another of the Arena War modes which you get to from the Online tab in the map menu.

Select “Jobs”, then “Play Jobs”, then “Rockstar Created”. Arena War is the first on the list, then scroll down to Game Masters.

How to complete a Gang Attack mission in GTA Online

Gang Attacks are different to most of the Daily Objectives, because they only appear in the open world.

To complete a Gang Attack, look for a red circle on your minimap and head on over. Somewhere inside the circle, you’ll find some aggressive gang members who you have to take out to complete the objective.

How to participate in a GTA Race in GTA Online

To get started with a GTA Race, you need to go to the Online tab of the map menu, select “Jobs”, “Play Jobs”, then “Rockstar Created”.

Scroll down to races, then choose any you fancy since there aren’t any extra parameters.

How to complete a Doomsday Heist Setup in GTA Online

Since this is a specific Heist, you just need to head into the “Play Quick Jobs” app on your phone and scroll down to The Doomsday Heist and complete a mission.

How to complete a Heist Finale in GTA Online

Unlike the last objective, this doesn’t mean one of the big heists added to GTA Online in their own update, so it won’t work with either the Diamond Casino or Doomsday Heist.

To complete a Heist Finale you need to complete one of the original heists by purchasing your own apartment and planning a heist from there. You should see the H marker showing the planning wall on your map.

How to participate in Here Come the Monsters in GTA Online

Here Come the Monsters is one of the Arena War activities in GTA Online, so it’s easiest to participate in via the Online section of the map menu.

First select “Jobs”, then “Play Jobs”, then “Rockstar Created”. Now scroll all the way down to Here Come the Monsters and start a mission.

How to participate in Hot Bomb missions in GTA Online

Just like Here Come the Monsters, Hot Bomb is part of the Arena War playlist and is accessed in the same way.

From the Online menu, head to “Jobs”, “Play Jobs”, “Rockstar Created”, then scroll down in the Arena War list to Hot Bomb.

How to complete a Lowrider mission in GTA Online

Open up the “Play Quick Jobs” app on your iFruit phone. Then to complete a Lowrider mission you need to scroll down to “Lamar Mission”.

How to participate in a Rally Race in GTA Online

Like with the other races, go to the Online tab of the menu, select “Jobs”, “Play Jobs”, then “Rockstar Created”.

Now scroll down to the Races and press the prompt to cycle through the different kinds of races. On PC the prompt is the shift key. To participate in a Rally Race, cycle to Land Races and choose whichever you like.

How to participate in the SASS Series in GTA Online

Unlike the rest of the races in GTA Online, the San Andreas Super Sport Series - or SASS Series - can only be accessed from the open world. It can found on the southeastern side of South Los Santos as shown in the embedded video from MenSpowd Gaming:

How to participate in a Sea Race in GTA Online

Similar to all the other kinds of races, you first need to go into the Online tab of the menu, then select “Jobs”, “Play Jobs”, and “Rockstar Created”.

To get to Sea Races, scroll down to Races, then cycle through the different kinds until you find Sea. You cycle through the kinds by pressing the prompt at the bottom of the screen. It’s shift on PC.

How to participate in VIP Work missions in GTA Online

From the Interaction Menu you see the Daily Objectives in, you need to navigate down to the “Securoserv” option and register as the CEO of your own business.

Then select the option again and you’ll have more options - one of which is “VIP Work”. Select this option for a list of missions to choose from.

How to participate in a Vehicle Deathmatch in GTA Online

Like regular deathmatches, Vehicle Deathmatches are accessed via the Online tab of the menu by navigating through “Jobs”, “Play Jobs” and “Rockstar Created”.

Deathmatches are about half way down. Cycle through the different types using the prompt at the bottom of the screen - on PC it’s the shift key.

When they're in the game, here's where you can find all of the peyote plants in GTA Online.
