Grand Theft Auto 5 accounted for 52% of games sold in UK during September, market up 45% yoy

GfK Chart-Track has revealed that 5.17 million games were sold at UK retail in September, a 45% increase year-over-year. The growth can be attributed to the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 which accounted for 52% of games sold last month - the game has sold over 2.6 million copies in the UK since its release on September 17. Retail stores reported £187.2 million in revenue for September, and for the first nine months of 2013, UK stores gained more revenue from software than in the first nine months the year prior.
