Gone Home sales pass 250,000

Gone Home has sold over 250,000 copies, which is no small feat for an entirely independent project.

The figure was revealed by Fullbright Company founder Steve Gaynor, speaking to Joystiq.
About 80% of those sales were made through Steam, he added.

The exploratory indie released on Mac and PC in August last year, and went on to sell 50,000 copies within its first month.

It won best indie and best PC game at the Spike VGX, was nominated for a WGA Award but lost to The Last of Us, and is in the running for a D.I.C.E. Award today, as well as multiple GDC awards.

Plus, we liked it a lot, which is of course an important accolade. Ahem.

Gaynor said recently that the bar is set really high for indies nowadays; it looks like Fullbright met that challenge squarely.
