God's Trigger is a frenetic, top-down co-op action game inspired by Hotline Miami

Techland Publishing has unveiled God's Trigger, a top-down shooter that lets you violently take down enemies working for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

If this sounds like an over-the-top setup, it's likely because it's meant to. The game's flow is very reminiscent of Hotline Miami's, only it's played in co-op.

One player plays as Harry, heaven's envoy in the fight, while the other controls Judy, an escapee from hell. The pair will need to rely each other's help to save the world. It's also cool that the Four Horsemen are depicted as modern-day people.

Developed by indie studio OneMoreLevel, God's Trigger was actually first revealed back in 2015 but went off the radar until Techland picked it up earlier this year. It's currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, due for release early in 2018.
