God of War developer hiring for new, open-world IP

Oh, job listings, you are indeed the curse of keeping things quiet. While nobody's been quite sure what Sony Santa Monica has been up to since God of War 3 was released last year, we're now seeing inklings that at least some of the team is working on an all-new IP.

The news was spotted by G4tv, who noticed something unusual in the pages of Gamasutra's help-wanted ads.

Predictably, it doesn't say much. The Californian company is working on an "unannounced new IP", and is looking for a Senior Level Designer. Looking a little closer, the detectives among you will note that "Experience in designing or contributing to the development of an "open world" game is a plus" - suggesting that this new project takes more than a few steps away from the ultra-linear God of War.

Sony, of course, are keeping mum on the topic.
