Global Agenda to switch to free-to-play model this month

Sci-fi MMOFPS Global Agenda will be moving to a free-to-play business model later this month.

The game's developer and publisher, Hi-Rez Studios, announced today that the switch will be made via a patch, titled the Free Agent update.

Once delivered, anyone will be able to access all of the game's character classes and content up to level 50.

Hi-Rez will still offer a one-time $19.99 charge to give players Elite Status over the free-to-players.

The premium version will offer additional features such as access to in-game mail and auction house functionality.

It will also allow for those players to get faster access to character levels, gear, and currency. Everyone who has purchased the game before now will automatically be upgraded to the Elite Status level.

The free-to-play update will also add content such as a "new Dome Defense Raid as high-level player content, a CTF-style Mercenary PvP game-mode with pilotable robots, revised skill-trees across all four character classes, and other changes and content."
