Genshin Impact coming to PS5 with DualSense support

This will be rolled out in the coming months.

Wildly popular free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact is coming to PlayStation 5 in the very near future.

In a post on Twitter, the official PlayStation account tweeted a new trailer, before saying that the title would be launching on its new console this spring. The PS5 edition of Genshin Impact boasts a lot of new features that you might expect from Sony's more powerful machine, such as enhanced visuals, faster loading, and support for the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller.

The game has been on PS4 since it debuted in September of last year, but has been playable at 60 frames per second on the PS5 since that machine was rolled out in November via the older console's backwards compatibility.

There's no firm release date yet, save for spring, but that does mean that it'll be out within a few months.

"The PlayStation 5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open-world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future," the president of developer miHoYo, Forrest Liu, said.

"That's why we've been working to bring the native PlayStation 5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could."

Within its first six months on the market, Genshin Impact became the first mobile title ever to pass $1 billion in revenue within six months. The game has been the biggest new IP launch for a Chinese company to date.

Recently, miHoYo said that Genshin Impact cost $100 million to make, but will cost twice that for every single year it is still being operated.
