Genshin Impact: Echoing Conches | Every Echoing Tales location

Genshin Impact has launched its Version 1.6 update, bringing with it a wide variety of new content including characters, equipment, events, and quests. The first event to go live is Echoing Tales, which tasks you with finding Echoing Conches around the Golden Apple archipelago, and runs from launch on June 9th until July 21st.

The main reward for completing the event is Summertime Sparkle, a character outfit for Barbara. This free item will later become a paid cosmetic for those who didn't participate in the event. You can also get additional rewards of Primogems, Mora, and Materials for playing.

How to participate in the Echoing Tales event

In order to take part in the Echoing Tales event, you need to meet a few prerequisites:

The event takes place across several islands of the Golden Apple Archipelago.

How to complete the Echoing Tales event

The main goal of the Echoing Tales event is collecting Echoing Conches. These conch shells are dotted about the islands, emitting a distinctive soundwave.

You can find Echoing Conches in various locations around Golden Apple Archipelago. Explore the islands using your new Waverider Ship to collect them.

Currently there are five Echoing Conches available, with more expected to be added over the next few days as the event progresses.

The ones we've seen so far have all been in high places: usually they're near the edges of cliffs overlooking the sea, and often there are signs of human habitation such as wooden crates and torches in the vicinity.

Echoing Conch Locations

When you first reach the Golden Apple archipelago, you can only collect 5 Echoing Conches around the islands. But as you progress through the event's main quest, more become available.

In the first wave there are:

  • Two on Pudding Isle:

One in the north-east of the northern island, right behind where you first spawned into the Golden Apple archipelago.

The other on the west side of the southern island, down the ledge.

  • Two on Twinning Isle:

The first in on a ledge overlooking the sea on the extreme east of the northern island.

The other is on a steep hill towards the centre of the southern island — the only one currently not near to the sea.

  • One on Broken Isle:

This Conch is off the ledge on the northern side of the peak on the northernmost island.

Each Echoing Conch contains a bit of dialogue that adds up to the event's lore. You can go into the event menu screen and use Conch Retrospection to re-listen to the conches you've already collected.

This can also lead to the solutions to world quests, such as They Who Hear the Sea, where you use them to unlock a treasure chest.

Then once you reach the second part of the event, another 23 Echoing Conches appear throughout the area. I found it best to travel around in an anti-clockwise direction, collecting them as they appeared on the map.

In the second part of the event, you can find Echoing Conches in the following locations:

Defeat the Hillichurls to the northeast of Pudding Isle and ride the wind current to the top of the spire to find a conch.

In the eastern corner of the map next to Pudding Isle, on top of the rocks.

On the island between Pudding Isle and Twinning Isle.

High up on the western side of Twinning Isle.

Inside the giant shell on the western beach of Twinning Isle.

In the middle of the northern island of Twinning Isle, look for some bird eggs on a ledge. Jump down the hole next to it and attack the rocks. This reveals a secret room with a conch inside.

About halfway down the spire on the southwestern island of Twinning Isle.

Overlooking the sea on the southern island of Twinning Isle.

On the beach on the eastern island of Twinning Isle.

On the small island to the northeast of Twinning Isle.

There's another conch on the beach between Twinning and Broken Isle.

And then another on the same island, guarded by hillichurls in the middle.

Then there's another conch towards the top of the foggy spire north of Broken Isle.

And just to the south of that conch, there's another inside a wooden cage guarded by hillichurls.

Up in the northwest corner of the map, you'll find one more.

On the island just to the northwest of Broken Isle.

Just off the beach in the middle of Broken Isle.

In the southwest corner of the map, go inside the cave and attack the rocks on the left. Inside the secret room there's another conch.

On the western side of Minacious Isle, there's an area of ruins with Hillichurls where you'll find another conch.

Then on the eastern side of Minacious Isle, there's another conch on the ledge overlooking the sea.

On the small island off the eastern coast of Minacious Isle, there's a conch on the beach.

Next, on the central platform, there's an echoing conch in the bushes on the southwest side.

Then the final echoing conch that's currently available is located on the northern beach of the central platform.
