Gears of War Xbox One won't be quick turnaround, stresses Spencer

Gears of War is coming to Xbox One courtesy of Black Tusk Studios, but Microsoft's Phil Spencer has warned fans that it won't be a quick turnaround.

It follows Microsoft buying the Gears of War IP from Epic Games, hiring former Epic veteran Rod Fergusson and putting Black Tusk in charge of the series.

Fans are understandably eager for some next-gen Gears action, but they probably won't be seeing it any time soon, according to this tweet from Spencer:

@TheRealDemons Still working through plan. I can say first original GoW from BT has to reignite franchise and grow it, won't be a quick turn
