Gears of War 3 to get multiplayer beta next year along with dedicated servers

Gears of War 3 will get a multiplayer beta next year, Epic Games has announced.

The taster will begin sometime in early 2011, but no specifics were given on it. Epic's Rod Fergusson acknowledged Epic wanted to do a beta test, but only for feedback.

The studio's normal development schedule had made it difficult for such a thing to happen, but with Gears 3 held back until next year, it's now become possible.

Epic also announced dedicated server support for the shooter's social and matchmaking games.

Gears of War 3 launches next fall for Xbox 360.
