GDC 2013 adds Spec Ops and FTL talks

Two more talks have been added to the Game Developers Conference 2013 line-up, covering the narrative design of 2K's Spec Ops: The Line and a post-mortem of Subset Games' FTL: Faster Than Light.

Spec Ops: The Line and FTL: Faster Than Light have been added to GDC 2013's seminar line-up.

A press release details how "Justin Ma and Matthew Davis of Subset Games will explain their process and rationale from crowdfunding to release, focusing on the player experience of running a starship and keeping gameplay structures, mechanics, and genre secondary in 'Designing Without a Pitch - FTL Postmortem.'"

Meanwhile, in a talk entitled "We Are Not Heroes: Contextualizing Violence through Narrative." 2K Games lead writer, Walt Williams will discuss the penning of the game's compelling narrative.

Last week saw the announcement of talks covering elements of Diablo 3, Assassin's Creed 3 and a narrative summit hosted by Richard Rouse of Microsoft Game Studios.

GDC 2013's full schedule can be accessed through here. The conference takes place March 25 – 29 in San Francisco.

Earlier this morning, we posted details of how Game Informer expects an announcement concerning the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft at around the time of GDC.
