GameStop to be closed on Thanksgiving

GameStop store locations will not be open on Thanksgiving in the United States.

GameStop CEO Paul Raines has confirmed in a post-earnings call that store locations will not be open on Thanksgiving out of "respect for the company's employees."

"We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day next week in the United States out of respect for our associates and their families. Sometimes, we have to not let the pressure from other retailers distract us from our values," he said.

Some GameStop locations will open at midnight on Black Friday, others will open at 8AM local time the next day.
