More people are buying The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at GameStop than they're buying Nintendo Switch consoles.

GameStop has said that it's sold through more copies of Zelda: Breath of the Wild than Nintendo Switch consoles, that's more than one copy for each console GameStop sold.

The information was shared during the retailer's latest earnings call (via Gamespot), during which the company revealed a decline in software sales compared to the previous year.

"The bright spot within software was that we sold more than one copy of the Switch version of Zelda for every Switch console we sold, indicating that consumers are coming to GameStop for additional games and accessories," noted management.

This statement is in line with what Nintendo itself, as well as other market watchers, noted around the game's launch. This impressive statistic means there's more than a 100% attach rate for the game, which is typically unheard of in the industry.

Part of this can of course be attributed to the Switch's limited stock situation, which got people to order copies ahead of their consoles' arrival.
