GameStop laments lack of titles released for PSP in 2010
GameStop's senior VP of merchandising, Bob McKenzie, has said he is a bit disappointed there weren't very many titles released for PSP in 2010 compared with the year prior.
Speaking with Eurogamer, McKenzie said the Sony handheld had a much better line-up in 2009.
"I think Sony did a great job two years ago in terms of coming out with a pretty good line-up of PSP offerings and I didn't see that breadth of titles this year," he said. "And it's still pretty meaningful to consumers."
When asked if he believed the lack of titles for the system had anything to do with the rumored PSP2, McKenzie refused to be drawn-in by the question.
However, it is plausible, especially considering numerous developers have access to the tech, and a couple others openly admitted either exposure to the system or that it was currently in house.
According to rumblings around the net, PSP2's codename is Veta, and there's also a PS phone in the works based on PSP1 tech, and its codename is Zeus.
Rumors point to a 2011 holiday release for PSP2.
