The best PAID iOS games this week

Lara Croft GO: $4.99 (iPad, iPhone)

Square Enix’s follow up to Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO takes the same turn based approach to puzzling. Hitman Go was a very good game. Lara Croft Go is an utterly fantastic game. There’s plenty of content (5 chapters - 75 screens in total) and the presentation, puzzles, and controls are excellent. Lara Croft GO is a genuine app store classic.

Ski Safari 2: $1.99 (iPad, iPhone)

The follow up to the 140 million time downloaded Ski Safari is everything you’d want it to be and more. The same fun skiing gameplay but this time with updated graphics, lots of new content, and new tweaks to the gameplay. This is some humorous, good natured, downhill fun.

Galactic Keep: $3.99 (iPad, iPhone)

Galactic Keep is a science fiction, turn-based, RPG adventure. The game is finally out after 6! years in development and it’s very very good. Players roll a dice to move and the main quest is played out over several board game type maps and a variety of locations. This is a large game and, if this sounds like your thing, well worth sinking some time into.

The best FREE iOS games this week

Sage Solitaire (iPad, iPhone)

Sage Solitaire is a Solitaire variant that, the description says, ‘combines the luck and joy of Klondike with the depth of Poker’. It does, and it does incredibly well. Sage Solitaire is a twist on Solitaire that feels perfectly suited to mobile play. Everything fits on the small screen well, there’s no cluttered arrangements of cards, and the gameplay lends itself to quick sessions. Probably the best Solitaire game on mobile.

Raider Rush (iPad, iPhone)

Raider Rush feels very much like a mobile version of Super Meat Boy. The object of the game is to platform your way to the end of two large temple towers via 30 increasingly difficult levels. This is a very difficult game but also, importantly… and just like Super Meat Boy, this is a game that controls excellently. One for speed runners and retro gamers.

Legendary Warriors (iPad, iPhone)

Legendary Warriors is a beautiful looking, and sounding, strategy RPG. Players choose 3 warriors for their group and embark on a journey from village to village RPG battling along the way. This is a simple RPG but one with very striking dream-like visuals that’ll stick with you long after the game is finished. Well worth a look.
