Gameplay experiences "more important" than graphical output, says Nintendo

Nintendo has refused to confirm or deny an earlier report that suggested Wii U was not at the "same level" graphically as PS3 or 360.

It said in a small statement that it would side more towards gameplay experiences than looks.

"We do not focus on technology specs," Nintendo said to Digital Trends. "We understand that people like to dissect graphics and processing power, but the experience of playing will always be more important than raw numbers."

GI International said earlier this week Wii U's graphical power wasn't up to scratch in comparison to PS3 or Xbox 360, adding it "just can’t quite keep up".

CVG reported yesterday that titles on Wii U were looking "just as good" as its PS3 counterparts, but it may struggle to reach the same GPU and RAM power as PS3 or 360.

Wii U's due out by the end of the year.
