Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams has said playing Ellie in The Last of Us film adaptation is "looking like a yes."
Speaking with IGN, Williams said while there currently isn't a script for the film, nothing is confirmed for the time being.
However, Williams said once she learned more about Ellie and The Last of Us in general, she had her agent set up a meeting with producer Sam Raimi the next time she was stateside.
It was even suggested that she moderate the panel pertaining to the movie at Comic Con earlier this year, but since she wasn't overly familiar with the game, she declined.
"I had a meeting with Sam Raimi and [game director] Neil Druckmann," she said. "And they said they’d love if you would moderate the panel at Comic-Con, but you’d need to watch the walk-through and know your shit because there are massive fans of this and we wouldn’t want it to go wrong.
"I was doing so much work for Thrones that I didn’t want to half-arse do it, so I said I’m not going to [moderate]. They said fine, but they’re gonna announce they had talks. So the way it was left is they want me to do it, and I want to do it. But there’s no script, no director, and no anything else. So at this moment, it’s looking like, ‘Yes,’ but it’s still such early days.
"At the moment, it’s looking good, and I’d love to do it. Hell yeah.”
Naughty Dog's Druckmann said previously The Last of Us movie will be an adaptation of the game, and at present there isn't an estimated release date for the film as it's still in the planning stages.
