It's undeniable: Pokémon Go is probably the biggest cultural moment gaming has had since the original game came out in 1998. It's hit every possible demographic, from casual mobile fans to hardcore gamers to your parents. Will it last? Who knows; but right now, it's certainly a hell of a thing.
Our other two topics cover what's happening in gaming in Japan (hint: smartphones, smartphones, smartphones), and Overwatch's new character. Overwatch, of course, is 2016's other gaming craze; and while some doubted its longevity at the start, its long-term prospects are currently looking pretty good.
