Freedom Wars includes text-to-speech, supports English

Freedom Wars has a feature called RubyTalk allowing players to rapidly communicate with each other - which supports English, giving a faint glimmer of hope for western release.

According to Famitsu via Siliconera, RubyTalk rapidly translates typed text into speech, so players don't need to look at chat windows in the middle of battle.

This interetsing feaure supports English as well as Japanese, the magazine said.

Sadly, this can't be taken as not confirmation of an English-localised launch, as many titles released in SCE Asia territories include English as an option rather than localise for multiple languages beyond Japanese; this is excellent for import fans, especially as modern PlayStation consoles are region free.

Codenamed Panopticon, Freedom Wars is a Vita exclusive action game with competitive and co-operative multiplayer for up to eight players - both locally and online. It makes use of location services, and is expected in Japan during northern summer.

Bonus round: here's a trailer from Gematsu.
