Fortnite's 100 player Battle Royale mode sure sounds a lot like PUBG

Epic Games' craft-em-up Fortnite is introducing a new mode that happens to very closely resemble PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, right down to the parachutes.

To the developer's credit they're very upfront about this, name-checking the hugely popular battle royale game numerous times in the announcement video below.

Fortnite, which has also been a huge sales success, and has been fairly well liked, will add this new mode on September 26, although it's currently available in the game's public test realm.

As with Battlegrounds, it'll let 100 players duke it out across a huge map. The difference here is that you can craft, destroying and creating buildings, objects, and pathways, and even crafting traps for your opponents to fall into.

The game got a new zombie survival mode just last month, so it's good to see that early access owners of the game (which will go free-to-play next year) are being given plenty to do.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
