Fortnite World Cup Finals peaked at 2.3 million concurrent viewers

The Fortnite World Cup broke all kinds of records over the weekend.

Epic Games has revealed some incredibly impressive stats coming off the very successful Fortnite World Cup Finals. Viewership peaked at a whopping 2.3 million viewers across Twitch and YouTube combined.

This effectively makes it the most-watched esports events ever. Incredibly, these are only Twitch and YouTube numbers, as players could also watch it in-game and through social media.

The Solo Finals are what attracted most viewers, and it's where the numbers peaked at 2.3 million. The Solo Final Cup was won by 16 year-old Kyle 'Bugha' Giersdorf, who took home $3 million.

The launch of Season 10 this today kicks off the Fortnite Champion Series, a set of weekly competitions with their own rewards, as well as bragging rights thanks to the addition of leaderboards.
