Fortnite’s boogie bomb has been temporarily removed from the game

Update: Epic Games has temporarily removed the boogie bomb from Fortnite, in response to an exploit that was uncovered.

The developer announced the decision in a tweet:

Original story: There’s a newly discovered exploit players can use in Fortnite to carry as many weapons as they would like. Epic is now aware of the issue and is working on a fix.

The exploit works like this: you fill your inventory up, throw down one weapon, hit yourself with a boogie bomb, then pick your weapon back up as you are dancing. You should then be able to pick up any extra weapons you desire.

Reddit user killadelph82 highlighted the exploit in a post of the Fortnite subreddit. You can check out a video at that link.

Further down the thread, Epic Games responded with simply, “(0_0) - on it. Thanks!”

If I were you, I would avoid trying the exploit before it’s patched. There is a chance you could end up with a ban if you’re caught abusing it.

No doubt this is something Epic will want to plug as soon as possible. This is a game that is balanced around players only being able to carry a set number of guns, grenades, and healing items. Being able to carry what you want will easily throw the balance off.

Expect an update from Epic soon.
