Fortnite taken offline after Season 3 update problem

Fortnite is going to be offline for at least another two hours.

Update: Servers are back up. Season 3 of Fortnite is green for go!

Servers will likely be up in about an hour. We will update you again in one hour with more details!

Thanks for your patience, we can't wait to get you started on Season 3!

Season 3 of Fortnite Battle Royale began today, although after only 15 minutes of live time it was taken offline by Epic Games.

It's not clear what the problem is, but at the time of the last update Epic said it expects the game to be offline for at least two more hours.

We expect the servers to be back up in approximately 2 hours.

We are currently investigating issues with this release and we are going offline while we investigate. We will be back as quickly as possible.

The problem echoes the update for the new map additions, which caused multiple problems for the game when it came back online, and even resulted in Epic offering compensation to players for downtime.

While you're waiting, you may as well read about all the stuff you can unlock in Season 3, including the bad-ass John Wick outfit.

Season 3 also brings with it a new Hand Cannon for Battle Royale mode.
