Fortnite on Switch does not have Save the World mode - and there's no plan to add it

Fortnite's Save the World mode - the main mode of Fortnite's initial launch - is not a part of the Switch version of the game.

Fortnite Battle Royale has been an enormous hit, with over 125 million players logging time with it. The game, which was already on just about everything else, made its way to Switch less than a day ago, and you can bet a lot of people are downloading it.

But the original Save the World mode, the one that people tend to forget about, hasn't made the trip over.

Save the World, which is all about base building and co-op action where you fortify against enemies called 'husks', is not available in the Switch version, remaining exclusive to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

In a statement to Gamespot, a representative from Epic Games said, simply, that there are no plans to bring this mode to the Switch. Hmmm.

Considering that Fortnite was in development for years and years, while Battle Royale was put together in two months, it's a shame to see all that work sidelined. Oh well - we're still glad to see the game on Switch.

Fortnite for Switch is available now.
