Fornite Playground LTM is finally live

After a week of delays, Fortnite's creative mode is officially live.

Update: Epic Games pushed the Fortnite Playground LTM live this morning for all to experience. You'll find it on the Game Mode selection screen.

"We’ve completed deploying our servers containing the improved matchmaking changes. All players can now join in on the fun in the Playground LTM."

Playground LTM is a chance to have fun, build and practise in Fortnite with a squad of up to four players. We have a full guide to Playground LTM here. You could even use it to keep an eye on the weird anomalies that are pointing towards changes for Season 5. All of which should keep you busy until the start of Fortnite Season 5.

Epic warned that there may still be some matchmaking errors but as of the time of writing the mode seems to be working fine.

"Please remember to change your region back to "auto select" and verify you're on your preferred region. There is the possibility that you may encounter an error, as many players are attempting to join this game mode. Just attempt to requeue until you find a match."

Original story: Epic still has some performance goals to accomplish, but progress on the Fortnite Playground LTM continues.

The Fortnite Playground LTM sounded like a promising addition to the game, helping small squads to create impressive in-game structures. Unfortanately, it ran into a host of technical problems almost immediately.

Thankfully, Epic Games isn't giving up on the Playground just yet. In a recent Reddit update, the studio explained that progress is moving along.

"We've continued working towards these goals over the weekend and our most recent load tests look promising, but there are some anomalies in the data that we still need to understand," the update reads. More specifically, Epic is trying to resolve the following test scenarios:

  • Exhausting server capacity
  • Matchmaking queue back-pressure specific to the LTM
  • Recovering when new capacity is added, etc

Epic adds that Fortnite's curren testing phase will be finished in a few hours, at which point it can provide a more status update will be available. We'll share additional news as it develops.
