Fortnite Battle Royale's first PvE mode back after disastrous launch

Fortnite's Halloween event, Fortnitemares, started yesterday and players were struggling to log on. But there's good news.

There was a bit of commotion yesterday as the new Fortnitemares LTM had to be taken down due to server issues. The mode is now back online and seems to be performing much better than yesterday, so go ahead and join in the Halloween fun!

Update 2:

Matchmaking has been stabilized in Fortnite, allowing Epic to re-enable Fortnitemares. The studio said players in some areas may "experience a higher ping" as it works to restore sub-region matchmaking. It is also aware players are experiencing "degraded performance," but it has pinpointed the root cause and are working on a fix.

Update:

Epic Games has announced it is disabling Fortnitemares in Battle Royale due to severe matchmaking delays. The new LTM only launched a few hours ago and fans are disappointed, to say the least. It might be a few hours before there are any updates, so we'll keep you posted.

Original story: Players have been met with unprecedented waiting times trying to access the latest update in Fortnite, which includes new Fortnitemares challenges, weapons and skins.

Epic Games is aware of the issue and posted on Twitter about it earlier:

There have been the usual kinds of replies, ranging from jokes, insults and pleads to get back in the game:

If you're looking to get into Fortnite, we suggest playing or doing something else in the meantime until this all calms down. If you're one of the lucky ones who got in, you can check out our Fortnitemares dance at different gargoyles page here.
