Fortnite has been downloaded 2 million times for Switch

Looks like Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch is going to do just fine.

We all knew Fortnite was going to do extremely well on the Nintendo Switch, but the numbers are still impressive. We're talking 2 million downloads within 24 hours good.

"Fortnite’s launch went extremely well — we had more than 2 million downloads in less than 24 hours," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Polygon today. "I think that speaks to the power of the franchise, the engagement of our players and the resonance of being able to play it anytime, anywhere."

It's all the more impressive considering the Switch version won't even have the Save the World campaign featured on other platforms.

Sadly, not all Fortnite Switch news has been good. It turns out players who logged into the game from a PS4 cannot access their accounts from the Switch. Still, given the number of players flocking to the Switch, it's possible a solution will be found soon.
