Former Playfish boss to head King.com London studio

Playfish development director Catharina Lavers Mallet has farewelled EA for a rival gig in social gaming.

Develop reports King.com has invested in a brand new London studio, and expects to employ around 40 staff.

“I am thrilled to be setting up a new studio for King.com,” the new studio lead said.

“I am excited by the company's vision to be number one in the casual social games category, and have been very impressed by the team and the original IP they have built.”

Mallet was moved into Playfish after EA acquired the social developer for $300 million. The triple A title developed under her guidance is yet to be revealed.
