Flame Over catches on Vita in 2014

A new post on the PlayStation Blog tells us that Flame Over, "a fast-paced, action-packed fire-fighting roguelike," is coming to PS Vita in 2014.

Flame Over will feature randomly generated levels and complex fire simulation. This means it'll radiate, jump between objects, and basically burn the crap out of everything it touches. The player's objective is to "guide a fire-fighter through the 16 floors of Infernal Industries’ skyscraping HQ, exploring your environment, seeking out loot, secrets and power ups and hunting down blazes against the clock." Are firefighters meant to loot?

Perhaps the most important tidbit of information is the lead character's name: Blaze Carruthers. Amazing.

It sounds like a neat twist on the roguelike genre, and combining destructive fire with randomly generated level sounds like a recipe for both fun and mayhem. Flame Over is being developed at Laughing Jackal, and will spread onto Vita in Q1 of 2014.
