Flagship Monsters, new environments, and everything else you missed from the TGS Monster Hunter World trailer

As is typically the case with Monster Hunter World, the latest trailer was chuck full of new details that fans have been mulling over since it was released.

The new Monster Hunter World trailer was of course shown during Sony's pre-TGS 2017 livestream. The biggest news was the January 26 release date, of course, but there was plenty more in there if you know what to look for.

Being a Monster Hunter mega-fan, Arekkz went through the trailer frame by frame to try and get as much new information as possible. There are few things worth mentioning here, and some will even excite series fans.

Starting off with the new map, Coral Highlands, this is our first look at this map which, although it looks like it's set underwater, is actually not. Maybe it's part of a drained sea, but certainly a different environment for Monster Hunter.

The hub area was briefly shown, but the biggest highlight is what looks like a new farming area. Monster Hunter games have always had a farming component, and this could be where players will farm in World. The video goes on to show some other maps that are completely new, but Arekkz points out they may only show up in specific missions.

As for new monsters, we get a few of them here, with the first being a cross between a Narga and a Reptile. Then the trailer switches to a very bizarre-looking furry bat, a Wyvern-type most likely. After a few more monsters, we get to finally see the Flagship Monster Nerugigante.

There's much more in the video, including details on the glide mechanic, some information of the story, the unique mechanics in what could be story missions, and more.

Monster Hunter World is out January 26 on PS4, and Xbox One. The PC version does not yet have a release date.
