FirstPlay to launch next week

Future's just said it's releasing the first episode of PSN interactive show FirstPlay on April 8, next Thursday, for £0.99.

Announced earlier last month, the show will be available in separate weekly episodes or on a sub for £8.99 per quarter.

Square Enix has partnered with Future for the first episode, which will see viewers access the Final Fantasy XIII website via a video. You can also get an exclusive in-game item for Just Cause 2.

"There’s a fantastic buzz about FirstPlay amongst the industry and the gaming community who want to experience our new service for themselves," said Richard Keith, publisher of Firstplay. "We are delighted that Square Enix Europe became a launch partner and look forward to working with them."

Jon Brooke, marketing director for Square Enix UK said: "FirstPlay offers an innovative way of communicating directly with committed PS3 gamers, and we are excited to be a launch partner."
