First beta for The Secret World kicks off this weekend

EA and Funcom have announced the beta for The Secret World will kick off this weekend, starting May 11 until May 13.

In order to secure a key, you can pre-order the game, which grants access to the first beta weekend as well as all upcoming beta weekends. Additionally, Gamespot will be handing out keys in limited numbers. See if you qualify here.

The first tester, titled Kingsmouth Calling, will have players trying out the Templar faction and once initiated, you will be sent through Hollow Earth to Solomon Island where you will be tasked with uncovering what's behind the strange, deadly, ocean fog permeating the area.

During this part of the testing phase, players will get to explore Templar headquarters in London and in later beta weekends, players will try out the Illuminati in New York and the Dragon faction in Seoul.

Kingsmouth is one of three regions on Solomon Island, and Solomon Island is just one of the world locations in The Secret World. At launch players will get to explore other world locations such as Egypt and Transylvania, in addition to the many dungeons in the game.

The Secret World MMO releases in June.
