Along with the news of upcoming content, the developer, Flying Wild Hog, and publisher Devolver Digital released a video giving the viewer a behind-the-scenes look at the studio with team members discussing the game's development.

The team is currently working on the game's first set of free content, which will contain the Nobitsura Kage katana from Shadow Warrior.

Other updates will include new missions, weapons, items "co-op ninja characters" and ultra-hard challenge mode.

Shadow Warrior 2 is the studio's biggest launch yest, according to Devolver, and saw a fourfold increase in sales its first week of availability when compared to the Shadow Warrior reboot in 2013.

Released on PC last week, Shadow Warrior 2 is also coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2017.
