Firewatch is the first title from Campo Santo
Campo Santo, the studio formed by Mark of the Ninja lead designer Nels Anderson, The Walking Dead developers Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin and freelance graphic designer and former Studio Ghibli artist Olly Moss, has announced its new title.
Firewatch, the first title from the company is in collaboration with Panic, Inc, and is a mystery game set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your "only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio."
Players take on the roll of Henry, who has retreated from "his messy life to work as a fire lookout" in the Wyoming wilderness.
Staying on the top of mountain, Henry is tasked with looking for smoke in order to keep the wilderness safe from forest fires.
Here's the story synopsis:
"An especially hot and dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio and is your only contact with the world you’ve left behind.
"But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the world, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making interpersonal choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have."
Firewatch doesn’t have a release date but is currently slated for 2015 on Linux, Mac, and PC.
The studio said it is "actively exploring the prospect" of consoles.
