Final Fantasy 15 Wait Mode lets you pause the action and aim your attacks

Final Fantasy 15 is a modern action RPG, and many thought it'll be doing away with series conventions like turn-based combat and tactical pauses mid-combat.

While that's true, Square has revealed a neat little addition for those who want to have some turn-based action. The new Wait Mode is designed specially for players who want to take it slow. This mode does what you expect it to: pausing the action to make tactical decisions.

This doesn't change the combat style completely, but you'll still get to individual target enemies (or body parts), aim spells, select abilities and other actions. The option can be turned on or off from the menu, but you can't pause the game forever, as there's a Wait Meter you'll have to worry about.
