A Final Fantasy 15 demo will be bundled with Final Fantasy Type-0, Square Enix announced at the Tokyo Game Show today.

It won't be on-disc; new copies of Type-0 will include a code to download the playable taster. The demo itself had not been dated.

The demo is called Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae and "includes elements from the opening sections of the full game, but alters story progression and more to create a unique first-play experience".

Details of the demo's content were not revealed.

Square Enix also announced that former director Tetsuya Nomura has moved off Final Fantasy 15 to devote his full attention to Kingdom Hearts 3. Hajime Tabata, director of Type-0 and its remake, has taken over.

Here's a statement from Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda on the change:

“In reviewing our development structure, we have decided to assign Hajime Tabata as the new director for Final Fantasy 15. Currently, Tabata and the entire development team are working, whole-heartedly, towards completing the production of Final Fantasy 15 and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality Final Fantasy title to date.

“We invite every one of our fans to view the fruits of our labour through Final Fantasy 15’s demo, and promise to present a game that further surpasses expectations when the finished product is released."

"As the director of Final Fantasy 15, Tetsuya Nomura has mainly worked on the original concept for the story and universe in addition to creating the characters. Hereafter, he will be focusing his efforts on the production of titles that can only be made possible by Nomura, himself, and delivering products that exceed the quality of past titles, starting with another one of his representative projects, Kingdom Hearts 3. Square Enix will continue to work on these titles with the best staff formation in an effort to deliver them to everyone as soon as possible and appreciates your continued support."

Two new images were released to accompany the news - an FF15 screen and an artwork showing Type-0 protagonist Ace and FF15 protagonist Noctis. You can watch FF15's TGS trailer below. We don't have a date for the PS4 and Xbox One title, which was announced eight years ago as Final Fantasy Versus 13.
