Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster release date locked in for Japan

With a Japanese date set for the release of anticipated PS3 and Vita re-release Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, western launch can't be too far behind.

Gematsu reports the two loving remakes will be available from December 26 in Japan.

Multiple SKUs will be available; on PlayStation 3, you have to pick up both games in one package, while on Vita the two RPGs come in separate releases as well as in a twin pack.

There's also a Vita hardware bundle with both remakes included.

So far there's no word on western release dates, but last time Square Enix gave a window it was northern winter so presumably local dates won't be too far behind.

The remakes come with modern additions like trophies and cross-save, and the Japanese version includes a 30 minute audio sequence with new story details. The core game used for both remakes is the International Version, itself a re-release of the originals.
