Fils-Aime: Skyward Sword will keep Wii ahead of the pack

Reggie Fils-Aime has said the Wii will stay ahead of motion control competitors on the strength of its first-party content, particularly The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

"I think the best example of how we continue to be distinctive and innovative is going to be Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword," the Nintendo of America boss told IGN.

"Because now you have a motion based game that's a traditional, core type of product."

Fils-Aime said heavy-hitting properties are the key to staying ahead of the pack.

"That's how we're going to continue to drive Wii, moving into the future, regardless of what our competitors do. Not just our direct competitors, but all of our competitors. We have to have great content, and that'll drive the business."
