Fighting Fantasy: Island of the Lizard King out on iOS today

The latest Fighting Fantasy game, Island of the Lizard King, arrives on iDevice today, following a recent Android launch.

The fourth Fighting Fantays title from Aussie indie Tin Man Games, Island of the Lizard King tells the story of a group of young men kidnapped by the "vicious" Lizard Men of Fire Island, who find themselves facing a "grim future of slavery, starvation and a lingering death".

I feel this casts unfair aspersions on lizardfolk, whom I assure you are brave, gentle and only interested in social justice and climbing the career ladder. But apparently these ones are controlled by the "mad and dangerous Lizard King", who holds them in sway with black magic. The fiend! Free the lizardfolk!

As usual, Tin Man Games has integreated its slick layer of bells and whistles such as animated page turnings, dynamic links, automated adventure sheet, physics based dice, tablet mode, retro mode and more.

"It’s been a pleasure to work with Tin Man Games on this project. They have succeeded brilliantly in capturing the essence of Fighting Fantasy, re-imagining Island of the Lizard King for digital audiences. The new features are great, auto-mapping in particular, and readers will need all the help they can get to deal with the Gongchong and Lizard Men who are looking forward to welcoming hapless victims to their island," author, franchise founder and all-round industry hero Ian Livingstone said.

Grab Fighting Fantasy: Island of the Lizard King from the iOS App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore for Android for $6/£4/€5.50.
