FIFA 20's Volta mode looks like a true FIFA Street successor in this new trailer

If you were a fan of last gen's very good FIFA Street game, FIFA 20's Volta mode looks set to scratch a long-unchecked itch.

Volta mode is FIFA 20's most major new addition, letting players experience the street-style gameplay that the series seemed to have abandoned.

This new trailer shows off the new mode, and everything it's bringing to the FIFA table. You'll create your own avatar in this mode instead of playing as famous players.

There are 17 different 'playgrounds' to play on, and it looks like they're placed all over the world. The mode looks very trick-focused, much like the original Street games.

You can play 3 on 3, 4 on 4 and 5 on 5 matches, and there's options for playing with both the formal 'futsal' rules or with no real rules, which is fun.

Alongside online and league play, there's also a full-on story mode, as the last few FIFA games have featured. Hopefully it won't be the start of another trilogy, though - we want something more contained.

Hopefully this will soften the blow of the Juventus license loss for fans.

The game is also adding female managers, which is another great addition.

FIFA 20 releases on September 27. It's also worth noting that the legacy edition releasing on Switch won't feature this new mode.
