FIFA 14 gets day-one patch, EA investigating balance issues

FIFA 14 has already received a small patch as EA Canada looks into complaints of over-powered attacking moves.

The day one patch addresses stability issues and applies minor fixes to Skill Games and Creation centre modes.

In a post on the EA forums, the FIFA development team said the patch was issued in response to the game's beta, but that future changes are inbound thanks to feedback received on the demo and early-access period. EA Canada is going to have a look specifically at:

  • The effectiveness of headers from corner kicks and crosses.
  • The effectiveness of finesse shots.
  • The accuracy of lofted through-balls.

EA Canada also said it's aware that "some users are experiencing freezes during the game" and is investigating, with an update coming as soon as possible.

FIFA 14 is out now in North America on current-gen systems, and hits Europe on September 27. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are due in November.
