FIFA 11 to get Ultimate Team update

EA has announced details of a major update to FIFA 11's Ultimate Team mode.

This will be the first major update for the game's mode, which is available via downloadable means.

The new update will feature a Play a Friend Challenge feature as well as Friends Leaderboards and 50 other improvements that come from community feedback.

"We have a thriving global community of over two million fans playing FIFA 11 Ultimate Team," said FIFA exec producer, Kaz Makita.

"Our commitment to these fans is that we will continue to listen to their feedback to improve and enhance their experience year round. Play A Friend Challenge and Friends Leaderboardsare both new innovations and features requested by the fans, and will enable players to better connect and compete with friends while playing FIFA 11 Ultimate Team."

EA announced last night that FIFA 11 was in a group of games that sold over 5 million units last year: its global sales stand at 11.5 million.
