Farmville dethroned as most-used app on Facebook

It's true. The world's becoming sane again.

"Phrases" - a DIY quiz and trivia app - has beaten Farmville as the most-used Facebook application.

Farmville, with over 81 million users playing it at one point of time, was the most used Facebook app and held the top spot on the social site for 15 months.

Despite being usurped, Farmville remains the most-used social game on Facebook.

Zynga shouldn't get too depressed, however. Takeoff Monkey, the developer of Phrases, recently disabled the app for US users for some unknown reason, and it's daily user-count is dropping rapidly, according to Inside Facebook.

Maybe "to Zynga" will be a reality yet.
