Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a standalone title due in May

Far Cry 3 has appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace, finally giving us some solid information regarding this rumoured "80's VHS vision of the future".

The Marketplace's listing confirms that Blood Dragon is a standalone expansion, so you won't need to own Far Cry 3 to play it.

It's listed for a May 1 release, and supports no multiplayer features beyond leaderboards, suggesting a single-player campaign or challenge mode of some kind.

The official blurb follows:

"Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. No word yet from Ubisoft regarding other platforms. We got hold of some screens last week, and received some slim details via an April Fool's joke, after an early Marketplace and achievements leak.
