Fallout 76 is getting a PTS, perk loadouts and more in 2020

Bethesda has outlined some of the major features coming to Fallout 76 next year.

As work continues on Fallout 76's Wastelanders update, Bethesda decided to share some of the other work the developer has been doing, which players are going to see in 2020.

First, a Public Test Server (PTS) is coming to Fallout 76 in 2020. More details will arrive when the developer figures out all the kinks, but you can expect major patches and tweaks to land on the PTS first to gauge player feedback before they're rolled out for everyone else.

In early 2020, perk loadouts will be added to Fallout 76. As the name suggests, the feature will allow players to create set loadouts with the different perks they've unlocked to better fit the different activities. Likewise, more details will be revealed leading up to launch.

The Legendary player system, which was initially planned for this year, has been delayed to the first quarter of 2020. Bethesda is still looking forward to releasing it, but more important work took precedent.

In the shorter term, you can expect fixes to the social menu that should restore the ability for players to send and receive invites. The frequency of public events is being adjusted with patch 14, and Bethesda will be making further improvements to public events such as removing the need for tagging.

Another big feature currently in the works is multi-factor authentication, which will be rolled out to the official Bethesda site and launcher, which should arrive by the end of the year.
