Fallout 76 players are having a field day in the newly discovered developer room

Fallout 76 players are risking bans to pilfer unreleased items from a newly discovered developer room.

Bethesda has another Fallout 76 fire on its hands with the revelation that players are accessing a hidden developer room and filling their boots with unreleased weapons and items. In an effort to stomp out these efforts, the publisher is automatically suspending player accounts until they receive feedback on how they finagled their way into the area.

News of players accessing the room surfaced on Reddit this week, and a video showing the contents of the area was also posted on YouTube, although the original was taken down and later reuploaded by another YouTuber, PolterGeist.

Eurogamer reports that players on Discord have known about the room for a few weeks, before it popped up on Reddit, and that a number of unreleased items found inside may be scheduled to drop in the PvP faction update, like the Winterized, Military, and Atom Cats power armour paints.

An NPC called Wooby was also found in there, hanging around on his lonesome.

Bethesda is reportedly reaching out to players who have managed to enter the area, asking for details on how they got in, adding that player accounts will "simply remain suspended and unavailable" until it receives a response.

Some players are apparently creating alt accounts to access the room, and transferring their ill-gotten loot to another account before being banned.

The latest Fallout 76 patch released on PC a few days ago fixed the item dupe glitch, which had resulted in players duplicating high level items and flogging them for real money.

Players who have entered the dev room and managed to transfer unreleased items before getting suspended may also follow suit, causing further upheaval to the game's balance and economy.

It's not all bad news for Betheda; its other online jaunt is going from strength to strength, and you can read all about how The Elder Scrolls Online just keeps getting better right here.
