Last Fallout 76 hotfix for this year is out now, PvP mode coming next year

Fallout 76 has received one final hotfix before Bethesda developers go on holiday.

The latest Fallout 76 hotfix is very minor, coming in as a small download on PC and no download on consoles. It brings the game to version 1.0.3.17 on PC, but does not change the version number on PS4, or Xbox One.

The patch's main change is that it addresses the item duping exploit. Alongside the update, Bethesda also penned a new blog post about some of what's coming to Fallout 76 in the new year.

The game's first update in 2019 is dropping mid-January, and it'll bring a fix to the lever-action rifle reload animation, perk cards, and a fix for the robot duplicating bug at Whitespring.

Bethesda also said that going forward, balance tweaks in patches will come with a small developer note explaining the intent, to be more transparent with players.

Finally, the developer said it's working on a new PvP-enabled mode without restrictions. Details are slim at the moment, but it should roll out in the first quarter of 2019. Until then, read on below for patch notes.
