How to Fast Travel in Fallout 76

Fast Travel in Fallout 76 is limited to areas you've already discovered and been to in-game. To do so, open the map screen, pan over to whatever icon you want to travel to, then select it. The option to fast travel will open up, whereupon you simply pay the fee. The game will then teleport you there, usually depositing you just outside or on the borders of that location.

Depending on the distance and the location, Fast Travel can be very cheap or very expensive. | Joel Franey/USgamer, Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks

How Much Does Fast Travel Cost in Fallout 76?

Unlike in previous games, Fallout 76 bills the player a certain amount of caps each time they fast travel. This cost varies depending on distance - jump a hundred feet to the next location over and it'll cost you a single cap, but jumping across the map could cost 50 caps or more. The exceptions to these rules are Vault 76 itself, your own C.A.M.P. if you've put one down, and the C.A.M.P.s of any friends or Teammates in the game: all of these can be travelled to for free, no matter how far away you are.
