Fallout 4: How to Get the Recon Marine Armor

Recon Marine Armor - most expensive in Fallout 4.

This guide will tell players how they can get the Recon Marine Armor, a variant of the Marine Combat Armor that was introduced during Fallout 4: Far Harbor.

If you were instead after anything else regarding Fallout 4, then why not head over to our Fallout 4 guides walkthrough hub, featuring complete quest walkthroughs, as well as how to find some of the rarest items in the game, like the X-01 Power Armor.

The Marine Combat Armor that we showed you how to get a short while back is probably the best you can equip in the game. Well, besides Power Armor, in which case the X-01 Power Armor is the best. However, if Power Armor isn’t your thing, and the Marine Combat Armor is too heavy, the Recon Marine Armor is another option available to owners of the Far Harbor DLC. There’s just one catch - it’s extremely expensive to buy from the various vendors.

How to Get Recon Marine Armor

First of all, the set doesn’t include legs. If it does, we aren’t yet aware of where they’re obtained, but we’ll be sure to update this article if that changes. The set does include a helmet, chest piece, right arm and left arm. Each piece is legendary and offers a unique special perk.

Recon Marine Helmet

The Recon Marine Helmet can be purchased from a vendor named Brooks in Far Harbor. Players meet him during a quest called The Arrival, but they can return and buy from Brooks at any time. The only drawback of buying the Recon Marine Helmet from Brooks is that it will cost gamers about 10,000 Caps. It’s a Legendary, however, and will provide players with +1 Agility and +1 Perception while wearing it.

Recon Marine Chest Piece

Players can buy the Recon Marine Chest Piece from Cog, also located in Far Harbor. Cog can be found in Acadia, so you’ll want to grab this piece, as well as Old Reliable from Dejen, prior to making decisions regarding the main story. The Recon Marine Chest Piece will reduce damage by 15 percent while not moving, which is an amazing perk, but it’s going to cost you more than 16,000 Caps to obtain.

Recon Marine Right Arm

The Recon Marine Right Arm can be purchased from Sister Mai, a member of the Children of Atom. She is located in The Nucleus. This piece will set players back another 10,000 or so Caps, and if for whatever reason The Nucleus is gone, players will no longer be able to obtain it. The Recon Marine Right Arm is also Legendary, and it increases your movement speed by 10 percent while wearing it.

Recon Marine Left Arm

The Recon Marine Left Arm is also obtained from The Nucleus, the main operating base for the Children of Atom. This time, players will have to do business with Kane, and they better bring another 10,000 Caps. It’s a Legendary piece of armor, and its special perk is to slow time when your health passes below the 20 percent mark. It’s probably our least favorite of the four pieces, but it’s also part of a set, so we need it.

All in, players are looking at nearly 50,000 Caps to buy this complete set of armor, and it doesn’t even include the legs. If we find a way to get it that doesn’t involve buying it, we’ll be sure to let you know. If you beat us to that, be sure to let us know in the comments. It goes without saying that every serious Fallout 4 player is going to want the Recon Marine Armor set.
