If there's one thing Destiny fans and detractors generally agree on, it's that its gunplay and general shooting mechanics are excellent. On the other end, however, the Fallout games are quite the opposite.

Developer Bethesda knew it needed to deliver good gunplay with Fallout 4. Thankfully, the Bethesda used Destiny as a reference point in that regard.

Josh Hamrick, a former long-time Bungie employee, works at Bethesda as a senior systems designer. As well as developing Fallout 4's Vita controls, his position allowed him to "focused intently on tuning" the game's weapons.

"The main difference in the way we develop [and other studios] is that we will develop with as many knobs as possible," Bethesda's Todd Howard told Game Informer in the latest issues - as reported by Gamespot.

"We're always thinking of scale. We're not a team that is just going to make eight guns and spend forever on one gun. We knew we were going to have thousands, so we needed to develop a gun system that had all of the dials."

Bethesda said previously that id Software had a hand in Fallout 4's gunplay, too.

Fallout 4 is due out November 10 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
